What is MD-IDEX?
The Manufacturer-Distributor Idea Exchange (MD-IDEX) provides a unique opportunity for one-on-one, strategic-level discussions with senior management of current and potential channel partners.
MD-IDEX offers a time- and cost-effective method for channel partners to have multiple face-to-face meetings, in just a few hours. Whether you’re focused on touching base with current partners or expanding your distribution network or product line offerings, invest in your business by participating in MD-IDEX.
How does it work?
Exhibitors reserve booths in advance of the event. Using the online Joint MD-IDEX/Expo Appointment Scheduler, both distributors and exhibitors can set confirmed meetings. Distributors have the ability to schedule up to six 20-minute appointments with exhibitors, while three 20-minute time slots are reserved for exhibitors to make appointments with distributor companies attending the NIBA/PTDA Joint Industry Summit. Exhibitors may also schedule appointments in any distributor time slot not already reserved by them with another exhibitor.
The signature formal networking event of the NIBA/PTDA Joint Industry Summit―the Joint MD-IDEX/Expo―blends the PTDA MD-IDEX scheduled appointments with the NIBA Expo format offering both one-on-one meeting opportunities and product displays, enhancing your ability to do business with more channel partners.
Booth reservations are now available and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, until sales close.

What’s the PTDA MD-IDEX?
MD-IDEX, which is short for Manufacturer-Distributor Idea Exchange, is the signature formal fast networking event held at the PTDA annual meeting. Traditionally, MD-IDEX is an appointment-only event with no (or extremely limited) tabletop-only product displays.
What’s the NIBA Expo?
The Expo is NIBA’s traditional trade show which allows product demonstrations, booth backdrops and other marketing material displays.
What is the Joint MD-IDEX/Expo?
In 2017, this event will blend both the MD-IDEX style of appointment-only fast networking with the NIBA Expo style of traditional trade show displays. The room will be open to all attendees between the hours of 8:30 am–3:00 pm to browse through all exhibits. All pre-scheduled twenty-minute MD-IDEX appointments will be conducted in the morning hours between 8:30 am–12:00 pm.
What is the Joint MD-IDEX/Expo setup?
Every registered (and paid) exhibitor will be assigned one 8’ by 15’ booth with two 6’ skirted tables–one to be used for appointments with distributors. Each exhibitor is allowed to decorate their booth space to meet their needs within the exhibitor guidelines provided. Booths are assigned first-come/first-served, based on the date and time stamp of the booth application and processed payment.
How does it work?
Both NIBA and PTDA qualified members may schedule appointments with members of either association using the designated online scheduling software during the allotted scheduling timeframe. Both NIBA and PTDA members are also allowed to have full product displays.
Distributors have the ability to pre-schedule up to six 20-minute appointments with exhibitors using the online appointment scheduler. Three 20-minute time slots are reserved for exhibitors to pre-schedule appointments with distributor companies attending the Joint Industry Summit.
